Join us for virtual Community Coffee!

This virtual BYOC (bring your own coffee) event will be led by the History & Genealogy Library staff and is meant to create a safe place to interact with staff, meet community members and talk about Library news and resources.

This time, we’ll focus on the Sonoma County Library’s historical research databases. We'll cover the "Top 5" - Ancestry Library Edition, HeritageQuest, Newspapers.com, the San Francisco Chronicle 1865-1922, and Fire Insurance maps online (FIMo) - as well as the more obscure. Did you know that due to Covid 19 you can access all of these databases from home - free with your library card?

Bring your questions and zoom in!

Please register for this event by clicking the button. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email on the day of the event with the meeting information and links.

The Sonoma County Library’s local history and genealogy collection is a community resource of immense value that was first established in the Santa Rosa Central Library’s California Room. In 1994, the collection was moved to a separate building located adjacent to the Central Library and commonly referred to as the “Annex.” In 2002, the Sonoma County Library Commission, governing board of the county-wide library system, adopted a new mission statement for the local history and genealogy division and renamed it the Sonoma County History & Genealogy Library. Services, resources, and technologies continue to grow to meet the demands of those we serve.
