Come read with our specially trained reading dogs. They are here in the children's area every Saturday from 11AM - 12PM. These special dogs love to hear stories read to them by children. Children earn a new book on their 7th visit and they can keep earning them all year long!!! Sponsored by 4 PAWS. In 1975 Healdsburg City Library joined the Sonoma County Library. By the early 1980s it was clear that the Carnegie Library building was inadequate for Healdsburg’s library needs. The quest for a new library site and building was thus joined to the concept of a wine library and both had a soft opening in early October, 1988. The building's official opening and dedication took place on November 5, 1988.
